Crowns.
They are a symbol of royalty, of rulers since ancient times, of those who have led countries and armies, whose words go undisputed.
With such power comes great weight.
As Shakespeare wrote, "Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown".
A king lies awake before battle, dreaming to be someone else without the heaviness of his commands.
But isn't that what fills the history books? Those who bore the weight of their crown? Good or bad, victorious or defeated, their decisions will be remembered.
What if we all wore crowns? What if we all had the authority to command armies?
I think we do.
As Thomas Paine once said, "We have it in our power to change the world over".
It's our decision to wear a crown or not. It takes courage.
The crown demands conviction.
What do we believe in?
What's close to our heart?
Do we bear the weight? Or do we sleep? ❤️
This collection is meant to be nestled on a bookshelf beside your favorite novel, lounging on a mantle, tucked by your bedside, gathered amongst others on a wall, or sleeping in a quiet nook. Place them where your eye will catch them daily, whether it's a glance, a gaze, or a wink. I want you to be reminded daily of their message...
We all have the power to make a change in this world, it's whether we choose to or not. It's much easier to sleep than bear the weight of our crown.❤️
